Skin Cancer Screening
Date: Saturday, May 1 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Location: NRH Cancer Management Center – 901 N. Porter
Last year in just two hours at Norman Regional Health System’s Free Skin Cancer Screening more than 100 people received skin cancer screenings. At least one case of melanoma was found, 37 pre-cancerous cases were found and 18 cases of early cancer were detected. Screenings will be performed by Dermatologists David Duncan, MD, Thomas Urice, MD, Paul Gillum, MD and Joel Holloway, MD. No appointment is needed. Refreshments will be provided. |

Wheel Fun!
Get pedal pushing at the inaugural Wheel Fun Healthy Community Bike Ride! Everyone is invited to cycle in this community bike ride that will teach bike safety and healthy habits.
The ride begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, May 8 at McKinley Elementary School, 728 S. Flood Ave., and lasts until 10:30 a.m. The course will loop through Norman up Jenkins Avenue and Flood Avenue to Robinson Street.
Along the way riders can stop at stations to learn about:
- Bicycle and helmet safety
- Proper hydration and nutrition for exercising
- The rules of the road, including railroad and train safety
This fun, family event will also feature giveaways including bicycle helmets, free water for cyclists, a helmet decoration station and more!
The Wheel Fun Healthy Community Bike Ride is sponsored by Norman Regional Health System and funded by the Oklahoma Fit Kids Coalition. Local partners include the Bicycle League of Norman, Cleveland Area Rapid Transit, the Moore-Norman Technology Center, the Norman Police Department, Norman Public Schools and the Norman YMCA.
