What
Your Business Can Do
To reach these four goals...
Hypertension
Companies can assist their employees by offering periodic
blood pressure screenings, recording the results and offering
programs for those who are identified as having high blood
pressure. Setting up an on-site stress management program
is what many Oklahoma Certified Healthy Businesses do to help
their employees stay healthy.
Obesity
/ Overweight
Set up screening, evaluation or preventive programs at the
workplace that could include body fat evaluation to help employees
identify ways to begin losing weight. Other helpful tips include
setting up an on-site weight loss program, making nutrition
information available at all break rooms and promoting healthy
menu items at vending machines or the cafeteria.
Smoking
Smoking is one of the most serious health risks for employees
today. Try setting up an on-site smoking cessation class and
provide educational materials for those who are ready to quit.

or to receive helpful information.
Lack of
Physical Exercise
Active employees are healthier employees. Try beginning activities
that give employees the opportunity to exercise such as aerobics,
basketball, softball, yoga or walking to name a few. Try providing
an on-site area where employees can exercise and provide employees
times when they would be able to exercise at work. †
† Always check
with your physician first before starting any exercise program.
